New handhelds make life easier at Sainsbury's
With a store estate of over 1000 locations the challenges of implementing any new IT system are significant. Sainsbury’s have been using mobile technologies in stores for many years and have recently embarked on an upgrade to their fourth generation of handheld terminals (HHT’s). Colleagues use these mobile devices for a range of store-based tasks: from managing inventory and deliveries through to picking customer orders placed through their website, the new Intermec CN70 mobile computers are central to the business process.
